Say goodbye to the licence counterpart!
Here at LICENCECHECK we are raising awareness with regards to the driving licence counterpart as it's now been abolished.
If you have a licence which was issued after 1998, you can destroy the driving counterpart but you still need to keep your current photocard licence.
If your paper driving licence was issued before 1998, these will remain valid and shouldn't be destroyed. The next time you update either your name, home address or licence, you will only be issued with a photocard.
As a company or an individual, are you prepared for this significant change?
Now the licence counterpart has been abolished, individuals can check their driving licence details using the view my driving licence service which is provided by the DVLA.
For companies that have fleets, you will still have to use a service like ours which will provide a online portal management service. Our portal allows you to check each driver at your company, view licence results, provide information regarding revoked and disqualified drivers and also run reports.
Also, a real time licence checking service, has been developed, where we now receive results instantly from the DVLA, instead of overnight.
