Meet George Allen: Strengthening Customer Support at DAVIS

We are thrilled to introduce the newest face at DAVIS, George Allen, who joins our Customer Support team. With a robust background in software support, George is already making an impact by helping our clients navigate the complexities of driver risk management and fleet compliance.

To help you get to know him better, we sat down with George to discuss his passion for technical problem-solving, his favourite platform features, and how he takes his morning brew.

Diving Into Driver Risk Management & Support

You’ve got a great background in software support. What are you most looking forward to tackling here at DAVIS?

George: I am looking forward to learning the platform inside and out! My goal is to get stuck in and support the rest of the team as they continue to provide the excellent level of customer service and technical assistance they’ve been delivering.

Now you’ve seen the platform “under the bonnet,” what’s your favourite feature so far?

George: So far, my favourite part of the system is the simplicity of performing a driving licence check. In a world of complex fleet software, seeing how DAVIS streamlines driver verification and DVLA checks into such a user-friendly process is impressive.

What’s the most satisfying part of untangling a tricky technical issue?

George: Bringing any issue to a resolution is always satisfying. However, when an issue is particularly technical, finding the solution brings an even greater sense of achievement.

If we’re chatting again in a year’s time, what’s one big project or skill you want to have mastered?

George: I would love to have mastered the Fleet area of the platform. It’s a rapidly growing part of DAVIS, and I want to be an expert in helping our users manage their vehicle compliance and grey fleet requirements.

 

Collaboration and Culture

In a support role, you’re often helping the rest of the team succeed. What’s your favourite way to collaborate?

George: I’m a big believer in the personal touch. I love collaborating in person or jumping on calls as and when needed to keep the personal aspect of a team alive.

Most important question: how do you take your tea or coffee?

George: Tea with one sugar (brewed for at least 3 minutes!), or a strong coffee with one sugar and milk.

 

Beyond the Desk

Commute Soundtrack: “I’m a bit of an old-school CD man. I love the old 80’s compilation CDs!”

Friday Evening Routine: “I tend to go to the gym if I have the energy, then rest up at home with a film or some football highlights.”

Mastermind Specialist Subject: Quentin Tarantino films.

Dream Dinner Guests: Thierry Henry (I’m a huge Arsenal fan!), Ricky Gervais, and Tom Hardy.
